Austria Veteran Atones For Terrible Miss In Florence With Match-Winning Goal In Inter Milan 2-1 Fiorentina Victory

Marko Arnautovic broke his goalscoring drought in Serie A to fire Inter Milan to a pivotal 2-1 home win against Fiorentina last night.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the 35-year-old atoned for his epic miss in Florence last week.

Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi paired Marcus Thuram with Lautaro Martinez in attack last night.

However, the Frenchman had to come off in the first half with an ankle injury, forcing Arnautovic’s introduction.

Despite his disappointing season, the ex-Bologna striker emerged as Inter’s hero.

Arnautovic wasted a sitter at Stadio Artemio Franchi last Thursday.

But unfazed by that miss, he stepped up to the plate last night to secure three points with a close-range header.

In doing so, the Austrian veteran made amends for an erratic showing in Tuscany.

Arnautovic’s first league goal of the 2024/25 campaign came at the best possible moment for Inter.

With Thuram at risk of skipping the upcoming Derby d’Italia clash against Juventus, they’ll likely need Arnautovic at his best.
