Inter right-back Denzel Dumfries has been ranked 25th place in this year’s Ballon d’Or.
The annual award ceremony, organised by France Football, takes place on Monday evening and through the award’s official X account, Dumfries’ ranking has been revealed.
The Dutchman was one of the best players for the Nerazzurri last season, in what would be his final under the leadership of head coach Simone Inzaghi.
Inzaghi left in the summer to join Saudi side Al-Hilal, just days after Inter’s brutal 5-0 Champions League final defeat to Ligue 1 side PSG.
Dumfries was excellent under Inzaghi and was one of the coach’s most important players.
The Dutch wing-back also had his most prolific season in front of goal for Inter in the 2024-25 campaign.
Dumfries scored 11 goals in all competitions for his club – a career best – whilst also scoring four times for the Dutch national team in this time.
The Dutchman scored twice in the 3-3 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final first leg last season, before picking up two assists in the AET win in the second leg. Therefore, he was essential to Inter booking their place in the final.
The former PSV man will be delighted with his 25th placed finish in Ballon d’Or, a reward for his first ever nomination for the award.
