There is now less than two weeks to go until Barcelona face Valencia in their next La Liga match, and the venue is still unknown. There is hope that a return to the Spotify Camp Nou will be signed off during the international break, although there is still a lot of work to be done before the green light is given.

Barcelona have until today (Monday 1st of September) to complete the Certificate of Completion, which they must give to La Liga in order to be able to make their return to the Spotify Camp Nou, although there could be some leeway given by the City Council and La Liga. And it will be needed, with Sport saying that the Catalan club expects to receive all of the required documentation before Wednesday, although it could also happen in the next few hours.

And it appears that confidence is growing, with the report also stating that Barcelona expect to receive the required permits to host matches with a 27,000 capacity by the end of Monday, which would allow them to play the Valencia match at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Barcelona cannot use backup plan for Valencia match

Last month, Barcelona signed an agreement to use the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys , which had been their temporary home over the last couple of seasons, until February, if the necessary documentation for the Spotify Camp Nou was not secured in time. But for the match against Valencia, it is not useable due to a Post Malone concert taking place a couple of days prior.

Barcelona say that the worst case scenario is that they will be back at the Spotify Camp Nou for the Getafe match the following weekend, but there is now a lot of confidence that they will have their homecoming in two weeks’ time against Valencia.
