According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Bayern remain optimistic about securing a new deal with Dayot Upamecano, even though the 26-year-old has “several options” to leave on a free transfer next summer.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the leading clubs “pushing” to land him in what could be a bargain move. Behind the scenes, a duel is reportedly unfolding between the Spanish giants. Barcelona are said to be “very interested” and maintain “active” engagement as they try to get ahead of Madrid.

The Catalan club continues to navigate financial restrictions, making low-cost opportunities like Upamecano particularly appealing. The defender offers top-level quality without a transfer fee.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid view Upamecano as a key figure to help them move on from players such as Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba.

Recently, Sport Bild’s Christian Falk reported that PSG are monitoring the situation of Upamecano. The Frenchman is seen as an option for the club, who could pursue a deal if the player were to be a free agent next summer.

A previous report from Fichajes revealed that Bayern Munich’s center-back has yet to sign a new contract, leaving the door open for a potential free transfer that would appeal to Manchester United, Real Madrid, and PSG.
