FC Barcelona defeated Sevilla 5-2 at home in La Liga last weekend to remain top of the league table. During the week, Barcelona defeated Newcastle United 7-2 in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg and won 8-3 on aggregate to reach the quarterfinals.
Earlier this season, Rayo Vallecano hosted FC Barcelona at the Estadio de Vallecas on August 31, 2025. The match finished in a 1-1 draw, with Lamine Yamal scoring a penalty kick and Fran Perez finding the equalizer.
