Barrenetxea ends Prem rumours; happy signing new Real Sociedad contract

Ander Barrenetxea is delighted signing a new deal with Real Sociedad.

The winger was being linked with Arsenal and Tottenham this month. But he has now committed to La Real to 2030.

He said, "The truth is that I am very happy, because I renew with my home team, the team I want to play for.

"I am grateful for what La Real has given me throughout my life and now even more. Now I am injured, but the week that comes I hope to be back 100%.

"When you are young you always dream about this but, when the time comes, you don't really believe it either, because my four or almost five seasons at La Real have been a dream.

"We have achieved a lot of things. And, if I stay, it is because La Real has a great project and we hope that those European qualifications continue to happen and, if it can be one more title, then too."
