Big development: Chelsea now accelerating to sign another new striker after Liam Delap

There has been a big development as Chelsea are now accelerating on signing another new striker as well as Liam Delap this summer.

This news comes after Chelsea beat Real Betis to win the Conference League on Wednesday night after being a goal down at half time and turning it around.

The Blues ended up winning the game 4-1 in the end after a bit of a Cole Palmer masterclass in the second half, providing two beautiful assists for his team mates to grab crucial goals.

Although head coach Enzo Maresca is once again not willing to get carried away after this by insisting that Chelsea’s target for next season is not going to be winning the Champions League!

Blues announce first summer signing

But surprisingly, it’s not Liam Delap!

Chelsea announced the new arrival of midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting on Monday night as they kick off a busy summer of new transfer deals.

The midfielder, who spent last season on loan in La Liga with Las Palmas and is a Portugal Under-21 international, has signed a contract until 2033.

Advancing on new striker

As well as Delap, who is actually expected to be announced any moment from now, Chelsea are getting closer to signing another new striker.

L’Equipe in France are reporting that Chelsea are now accelerating for Hugo Ekitike of Frankfurt.

Chelsea apparently stepped up their efforts in recent hours on Monday to sign Ekitike this window.

The big development on this is that Ekitike withdrew from the France U21 Euro squad due to an apparent back injury, but the report says he is likely resting before a transfer.
