Carlos Augusto will be fit for Inter Milan’s Serie A opener against Torino, whilst Davide Frattesi will be a last-minute decision.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are just a few weeks away from the start of their Serie A season.
The Nerazzurri k ick off their campaign against Torino on Monday. They host the Granata at the San Siro in their first match of the season.
This will be the first Serie A match in charge of Inter for new coach Cristian Chivu.
There have been a couple fitness concerns for Inter coach Chivu approaching Monday’s match.
Firstly, there is the fitness of wingback Carlos Augusto. The Brazilian had picked up a slight muscle problem last week.
That issue caused Augusto to miss Inter’s final friendly match of preseason against Olympiacos.
However, the Corriere dello Sport report, Augusto will be available on Monday.
Meanwhile, midfielder Davide Frattesi has been recovering from abdominal surgery. Therefore, he has only just made a return to full training.
Frattesi is racing to fitness ahead of Inter’s Serie A opener. It is not yet certain whether he can be available on the bench, but it cannot be rule out.
