Brighton & Hove Albion Confident of Bagging Charalampos Kostoulas

How Much Will He Cost Brighton?

Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg has reported that the Seagulls are now very confident of securing an agreement for the signing of the 18-year-old striker in the summer window. He cites Chelsea as an interested party but claims that it’s still not clear if the Blues will be making a major move to hijack the deal.

The reporter has claimed that Brighton’s agreement with the Greek club is not finalised yet, but that the two clubs are now in an advanced stage of negotiations and the Premier League side are working hard to get a deal done. It’s also added that the entire financial package for this deal is going to be around £39.6 million. Kostoulas is actually under contract with Olympiacos until the end of June 2030, which is why Brighton will have to pay a major fee to sign him this summer.

What Can Kostoulas Bring to Brighton?

Brighton are seemingly looking to add more firepower to their frontline as support for Danny Welbeck, who scored 10 goals in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign. The Seagulls could be getting a talented and versatile forward. Kostoulas is naturally a centre-forward but can also play as an attacking midfielder or as a right-winger if needed, showing impressive adaptability.

The teenager has scored nine goals in 35 appearances for Olympiacos so far, having scored 15 goals in 20 matches for their under-19 team. The Greek forward has been praised for being a “clinical finisher” and has even been dubbed Babistuta, a homage to former Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta. Kostoulas can add more energy to the Brighton frontline, as he boasts impressive pace and link-up ability along with his efficiency in converting chances. It’s now down to the Seagulls to beat the competition and sign the 18-year-old.
