Casemiro close to signing for MLS giants

Casemiro appears to be edging closer towards the end of his Manchester United career.

Fresh reports have revealed that the midfielder is now close to securing a move to the MLS.

The Brazilian has already confirmed that he will leave Old Trafford once his contract expires this summer.

Manchester United are now preparing for a major midfield rebuild ahead of next season.

At least two midfield additions are expected during the summer transfer window, while several targets have already been discussed internally following Casemiro’s upcoming departure.

The experienced midfielder still played an important role during the closing months of the campaign.

Under Michael Carrick, Casemiro helped Manchester United secure Champions League qualification.

His performances also earned him a recall to Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Now, according to talkSPORT, the 34-year-old is close to finalising a move to the United States.

However, the report states that multiple clubs had shown interest before Casemiro made his preferred destination clear.

Saudi Arabian clubs were monitoring the situation.

LA Galaxy were also credited with interest.

But the former Real Madrid midfielder is now understood to be prioritising a switch to Inter Miami.

The report claims verbal terms between both parties are close to being finalised.

The MLS side are optimistic that a deal can be completed within league financial regulations.

The move would see Casemiro join a growing list of global stars currently playing in Miami.

Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are already part of the squad, while Manchester United legend David Beckham continues overseeing the club as co-owner.

Casemiro joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in 2022 in a deal worth around £60 million.

During his spell at Old Trafford, he won both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup while making over 150 appearances across all competitions.

His expected departure now marks another major change ahead of what is shaping up to be a busy summer at Manchester United.
