Celtic left-back Marcelo Saracchi is reportedly attracting interest from Argentine side Racing Club…

According to Argentine outlet El Crack Deportivo, the 27-year-old has caught attention following a string of decent performances since his arrival in Glasgow last summer.

Saracchi joined Celtic without an option to buy included in the agreement, leaving his long-term future at the Hoops uncertain. Earlier reports hinted at discussions over a potential permanent transfer, but no concrete progress with Celtic has been made.

The report suggests Racing Club are now monitoring the left-back as they prepare for possible squad changes. With current full-back Gabriel Rojas linked to a potential exit, head coach Gustavo Costas is believed to be assessing replacements, with Saracchi emerging as a viable option.

Saracchi’s agent confirmed last month that talks regarding his future were expected, though developments since then seem to have hit a stumbling block. Despite the uncertainty, Saracchi has been impressive this season for Celtic – contributing three goal involvements – two assists and one goal – in 22 appearances this season.

His energetic displays have resonated with supporters, many of whom are calling for increased playing time, especially given the inconsistencies of Kieran Tierney in recent weeks. Saracchi brings a wealth of experience, having previously featured for the likes of River Plate, RB Leipzig, Galatasaray, and Levante.

The SFA has confirmed the refereeing team for Celtic’s upcoming Scottish Premiership fixture against Falkirk this weekend.

O’Neill’s side return to action following the league split on Saturday, taking on John McGlynn’s Falkirk at Celtic Park. The match will be the fifth meeting between the sides this season, with Celtic having won all four previous encounters.

Ryan Lee has been appointed as the referee for the match, with Jonathan Bell and Dougie Potter AR1 and AR2.

Meanwhile, VAR responsibilities will be handled by Chris Graham at Clydesdale House. He will be supported by Greg Aitken who is AVAR.
