As per recent reports, Celtic have the opportunity to bring striker Kieron Bowie back to Scotland this summer transfer window.
Back in January, there were a number of reports linking the forward to the Hoops, however he made the trip that several Scottish players have in recent years, moving to the Italian Serie A and signing for Hellas Verona.
Well, the opportunity to sign Bowie may have arisen once more. Indeed, as Football Insider are reporting that Celtic have been offered the chance to sign Bowie after Verona’s recently confirmed relegation to Serie B.
They state that he signed a four 1/2 year contract at the Italian side, but the relegation has complicated matters, implying that they may need to balance the books this forthcoming summer.
Since joining in January, Bowie has lfeatured 13 times for Verona, scoring four times including a late equaling against champions Inter Milan at San Siro last weekend. Not a terrible return considering how poor the side are as a collective.
Sadly for the forward, he has not done enough to be part of Steve Clarke’s squad for this summer’s FIFA World Cup, with the 26 man squad announced earlier on today. A summer off would be handy for him, though, and perhaps Celtic too.
