On Saturday afternoon, Celtic got off to the perfect start in the Premiership split with a huge, hard fought three points at home to Falkirk.
The weekend got even better on Sunday when Motherwell defeated Rangers 3-2 at Ibrox courtesy of a last minute winner, allowing Martin O’Neill’s side to overtake their great enemy into second place.
Unfortunately, Hearts managed to come from behind and beat 9 man Hibs 2-1 in the Edinburgh derby and remain top of the league, so it was not quite the perfect weekend, but it was not far off.
After Motherwell had secured their win over Rangers, videos of the dressing room were going around on social media, as they so often do.
In one of the videos in particular, you see Celtic loanee Stephen Welsh celebrate down the tunnel, loudly enough – and almost certainly consciously – that the home dressing room could hear his emotion.
This has lead to the video going viral across social media platforms, particularly Twitter. As expected, Celtic fans are loving it, whilst Rangers fans are extremely bitter after such a disappointing result.
Welsh played 56 minutes of the 3-2 victory, as he was forced off through injury whilst Motherwell were 2-1 up. Let’s hope it is nothing serious and he can continue to get game time until the end of the season.
