Joao Pedro has slotted into the number nine role at Stamford Bridge with ease, scoring two goals in three Premier League matches, which came after his impressive performances in the Club World Cup.

It’s difficult to disagree with Pedro. Estêvão is brilliant at shifting his body weight and changing direction with speed. He has shown impressive vision for someone still so young. He’s a joy to watch when one-on-one with opposition defenders. He is capable of dropping deep to pick up the ball and cause havoc, or run in behind to stretch the opposition.

Despite his youth, he has already shown a high work rate in games, which is a great indication of his attitude. It’s clear that Chelsea have acquired a prestigious talent, and it’s going to be fascinating to watch how the 18-year-old progresses.
