Chicago Fire FC Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady is on the United States Men’s National Team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup roster

Chicago Fire Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady will don the stars and stripes on soccer’s biggest stage.

The United States Men’s National Team officially released their roster for the matches leading up to and during the FIFA Men’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada and the Chicago Fire’s Homegrown was among the three netminders who made Mauricio Pochettino’s final roster.

Brady, who spoke to On Tap Sports Net last week about his hopes of making the USMNT World Cup squad, is slotted in as the red, white and blue’s third goalkeeper behind NYCFC’s Matt Freese and current New England Revolution-loanee (his loan from Lyon expires on June 30, 2026) Matt Turner and will wear number 25 throughout the duration of the USMNT’s World Cup run.

Brady, who has been the Chicago Fire’s full-time starting goalkeeper since 2023, has made 106 starts for Chicago in his four full seasons in Major League Soccer. The Fire initially signed Brady to a Homegrown contract as an 18-year-old in May 2022 and have since signed their star goalkeeper to a new, long-term deal that ties him to the club through at least 2029. Brady has been in arguably the best form of his career entering the World Cup with his side up to third in the Eastern Conference behind only Nashville SC and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, setting the stage for his inclusion on the USMNT roster for the biggest four weeks (at least) in US Men’s Soccer history.

Brady spent many international windows with United States youth teams before recently becoming a regular in Pochettino’s squads in the build up to the World Cup and he will now get to be with the USMNT for the World Cup and their send-off match in Chicago against Germany on June 6.
