Chivu Admits ‘I Feel The Burden Of Responsibility’ Ahead Of Inter Milan Vs Torino Serie A Opener

Cristian Chivu says that he feels the “burden of responsibility” ahead of Inter Milan’s Serie A opener against Torino.

The 44-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, just a few days before the Nerazzurri kick off their league campaign. He also praised striker Ange-Yoan Bonny.

Inter Milan are just a few weeks away from the start of their Serie A season.

The Nerazz urri kick off their campaign against Torino on Monday. They host the Granata at the San Siro in their first match of the season.

This will be the first Serie A match in charge of Inter for new coach Cristian Chivu.

Meanwhile, some new faces who have arrived during the summer transfer window will also have a chance to make their debuts.

Inter came agonizingly close to winning the Serie A title last season. However, they lost out by just a single point to Napoli on the final day of the campaign.

Therefore, Chivu will have the task of trying to return Inter to the summit of Italian football in his first season at the helm of the club with whom he spent six years as a player.

Chivu: “I Feel Responsibility” Ahead Of Inter Serie A Opener Vs Torino

Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu said that as far as his feelings abou t the start of the season, “I don’t talk about my emotions.”

“I’m good at hiding them,” he said, then joked “and at not having them.”

“Obviously, coaching the team where I’ve spent a long time and won so much gives me something extra.”

“I’m sure the burden of responsibility I feel here will be able to hide my feelings,” Chivu said.

“We try to maintain the same mentality. The same perception of the importance of being an Inter player.”

The coach declared that “there are expectations, passion, and love.”

Meanwhile, C hivu called Inter striker Ange-Yoan Bonny “a pure young guy.”

“He’s someone who wants to improve,” the 44-year-old added. “He’s at a big club, and he’s understood that right away by working hard from day one.”

Chivu praised Bonny for “immediately making himself available to the group.”

“Having top players around you allows you to grow quickly,” the Inter coach added.
