Icon Sport

Chelsea are looking to end their 2024/25 season on a high note by securing a top-5 finish for a place in the UEFA Champions League and also winning the UEFA Europa Conference League. However, they’ve already started plans to improve their squad in the 2025 summer window and look to be interested in Strasbourg forward Emanuel Emegha.

Chelsea Begins Preliminary Discussions for Strasbourg Striker Emanuel Emegha

What Advantage Does Chelsea Have in Their Pursuit of Emegha?

Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has reported that the Blues are now closely monitoring the development of the 22-year-old striker in Ligue 1. The journalist also adds that internal discussions have already taken place over the possibility of signing the Dutchman and that “first contacts took place” for the forward, who is among the striker candidates that the Blues aim to sign for the 2025/26 season.

It’s also being reported that discussions have been held between Chelsea and the player’s representatives regarding the length of a contract that he would like to sign if he joins the London giants. It’s also stated that there will be no issues in negotiations between the Blues and Strasbourg, because the two clubs share the same ownership in the BluesCo company, with numerous transactions already having taken place between the two clubs in the past.

What Can Emegha Bring to Chelsea?

Chelsea are yet to discover the price that they’ll need to pay for Emegha’s signing, as he was signed by the French club for around £11 million in 2023. The Blues could be getting a promising talent if they wish to make a move for the 22-year-old in the summer window. That is because Emegha has proven himself as a menacing threat for Strasbourg’s opponents, with his speed being his vital trait. He has been the fastest player in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign, clocking a highest speed of72 km/h for Strasbourg.

The young forward has also scored 14 goals in Ligue 1 this season, as well as grabbing three assists. He is a speedy forward who has proven himself capable of getting into the important areas inside the box and finishing off chances clinically. He has scored 23 goals in 60 career games for Strasbourg so far, and could be a smart low-money signing for the Blues.
