Paulo Dybala , Matias Soule and Lorenzo Pellegrini all picked up additional game time on Thursday as Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma took part in a training ground friendly against local side Roma City during the international break.
A Roma XI, which was without 11 senior players who were away with their respective international sides, took part in a friendly on Thursday at the request of head coach Gasperini.
The match brings an opportunity for Dybala to earn minutes as a starter. He played alongside the likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini, Matias Soule, Bryan Cristante and Tommaso Baldanzi.
The Giallorossi lined up in a 3-4-2-1, in what was a makeshift team due to the 11 absentees. Angelino played in the back three due to a lack of alternatives, with Pellegrini playing alongside Cristante in central midfield.
There was also an opportunity for 16-year-old striker Lorenzo Paratici, the son of former Juventus and Tottenham director Fabio Paratici, to play up front with the senior side.
Gasperini was without Evan Ndicka, Gianluca Mancini, Piotr Ziolkowski, Wesley Franca, Kostas Tsimikas, Zeki Celik, Manu Kone, Neil El Aynaoui, Nicolo Pisilli, Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson, who are all away on international duty.
Roma friendly XI: Gollini; Ghilardi, Hermoso, Angelino; El Shaawary, Cristante, Pellegrini, Soule; Dybala, Baldanzi; Paratici.
