Cristiano Ronaldo will have to wait a little longer before lifting his first Saudi Pro League championship trophy with Al-Nassr. Since joining the team in 2023, the Portuguese superstar has chased the elusive trophy.
The Riyadh-based club entered the field on Tuesday to try to beat its closest pursuers, Al-Hilal, at home. Everything seemed in place for Al-Nasser to secure the win.
With a 1-0 lead with 10 seconds left in the second half, the visitors were awarded a throw-in. What seemed like an easy play resulted in a total nightmare for the home team. Goalkeeper Bento went for the ball, but it slipped between his hands and went into his goal.

After missing out on such a magical opportunity, Cristiano Ronaldo sent a message to Al Nassr supporters, reminding them that the goal is still within reach.
“The dream is close. Heads up, we have one more step to take! Thank you all for the amazing support tonight!” the Portuguese superstar wrote.
They will face Damac next week to try to seal the deal. A tie could help them win the title, depending on Al-Hilal’s next results.
