Manchester United have seen several former stars build business empires away from football, with many continuing to expand their influence long after leaving Old Trafford.
As the modern game becomes increasingly connected to media and technology, former players are now investing heavily in the platforms shaping how football is watched around the world.
One of United’s greatest-ever players has now made another major move ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo has become a shareholder in Brazilian sports broadcasting company LiveMode, as they announced on Instagram.
The former Manchester United forward has invested in the company’s international arm, LiveModeTV, as part of its plans to expand globally before the 2026 World Cup.
His role will involve becoming a strategic partner in a newly created operating group focused on taking the brand beyond South America.
The financial details of the agreement have not been made public.
The move comes at a crucial time for LiveMode, which is preparing to expand into new markets including Portugal.
The company has gained major traction through CazeTV, a platform built in partnership with Brazilian streamer Casimiro Miguel.
CazeTV has become known for free sports broadcasts on YouTube, covering major events including the World Cup and Olympic Games.
By bringing Cristiano Ronaldo on board, LiveMode aims to strengthen its global footprint through both digital reach and commercial partnerships.
A statement from the company confirmed the deal.
“We’re proud to announce that Cristiano Ronaldo is the newest partner of LiveModeTV.
“Together, we’re bringing live football to YouTube in a new way, with fans at the center of everything.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to expand his business interests while still playing for Al Nassr.
He already holds a stake in UD Almeria and has invested in several ventures outside football.
Back in March, Herbalife completed the acquisition of a business project backed by Ronaldo and Diogo Dalot.
That move highlighted how active the former United striker has become in high-value commercial projects.
The Portuguese star remains one of football’s biggest global figures, and this latest deal further expands his presence in sports media.
