Inter Milan newcomer Petar Sucic has already proved himself a worthy heir to long-serving stalwart Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInter1908, the 21-year-old has become the leading contender to take the Armenian’s place in the future.

Petar Sucic is not just Inter’s future. He is their present.

Indeed, the Croatian starlet has already made three starts in Serie A this season, racking up two assists in the process.

Furthermore, he has already overtaken Davide Frattesi in the pecking order.

Petar Sucic to Take Henrikh Mkhitaryan Place at Inter Milan

Sucic’s early performances at San Siro have been nothing short of eye-catching.

Meanwhile, Mkhitrayan’s influence has begun to fade, with the veteran setting one foot in retirement.

At 36, Mkhitaryan is well past his prime. However, he remains one of Cristian Chivu’s most dependable options in the middle of the park.

Regardless, he is in the final year of his contract and will most likely leave San Siro at the end of the season.

Mkhitaryan’s departure will leave a sizeable gap in the midfield, with Sucic expected to fill it.
