Iliman Ndiaye played a crucial role in Sheffield United’s successful Championship campaign last season, contributing with 14 goals and 11 assists. Despite the promotion, he chose not to continue with the Blades in the Premier League and opted to join his childhood club, Marseille, in Ligue 1.

As per information shared by reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page, there are indications that Ndiaye might consider a return to English football. There have already been rumours regarding Everton’s interest in him, but now Crystal Palace have been mentioned as well. Palace, who had shown interest in him during the summer, are reportedly pursuing him and are open to the options of a loan or a permanent transfer.

The Senegal international has participated in a total of 23 matches across all competitions for Marseille this season. In the league, he has contributed with one goal and three assists. However, in eight appearances in European competitions, he has yet to score.

These transfer links are coming about because on January 10th, French newspaper L’Equipe disclosed on their website that Marseille had earmarked £123 million for wages during the 2023/24 financial year. This allocation has been identified as a contributing factor to the significant losses incurred since American businessman Frank McCourt acquired the Ligue 1 club in 2016.

It is thought that Ndiaye is one of those players that the French club are looking to get off their books either temporarily or permanently.
