After his last World Cup qualifier match with Argentina a few weeks ago, Messi hinted that he is not sure if he would play in the 2026 World Cup.

Messi mentioned being focused on Inter Miami for the rest of the 2025 MLS season. With nine months left till the World Cup, the Inter Miami star says that he will decide as the tournament gets closer.

With Messi being uncertain about playing in the next World Cup, Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham was asked his opinion on whether he believes Messi will play with Argentina in the upcoming World Cup.

During the CBS Sports Champions League Show, David Beckham, along with Kate Scott, Micah Richards, and Jamie Carragher, was asked if they believe Messi would play in the next World Cup.

Richards and Carragher believe that Messi will play in it next summer, and many wanted to see what Beckham would say since he is associated with Inter Miami and knows Messi personally.

Beckham smiled and simply said, "We all hope so." Many fans believe he knows that Messi will decide to play in the 2026 World Cup.

Michelle Kaufman from the Miami Herald reports that Messi and Inter Miami agreed on terms for a new multi-year contract. Messi is expected to stay at Inter Miami, and an announcement is expected to be made in the next 10 days.
