Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba.

According to a report from the Independent, Roberto De Zerbi has identified the 22-year-old central midfielder as a target, and he could cost around £100 million. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham is willing to pay that kind of money for him.

It is no secret that Spurs need more quality in the middle of the park. They need more physicality, drive and defensive steel in the midfield. The 22-year-old could be the ideal acquisition. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham follow up on their interest with an official offer to get the deal done.

Spurs want multiple Brighton players

Apart from Baleba, Tottenham are looking at two other Brighton players. Bart Verbruggen has been identified as a potential replacement for Guglielmo Vicario, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

On the other hand, defender Jan Paul van Hecke is also a target for the North London club. Cristian Romero has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham, and they need to replace him properly.

Brighton will not want to lose stars like Carlos Baleba

Signing the three Brighton players will not be easy. They are looking to build a competitive team that will help them push for European qualification every season, and they will not want to sell three of their best players in a single window. Also, the potential signings will cost a lot of money, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can afford them, especially without European football.

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham, and they barely survived the drop. They will not want to be in a similar position next year, and signing the right players could help them perform at a higher level.
