Newly-promoted Serie A outfit Cremonese now have a full agreement in place to sign former Leicester City star and ex-England international Jamie Vardy on a free transfer according to the latest updates.
Vardy, who left Leicester after 13 years at the end of his contract earlier this summer, will join La Cremo on a free transfer and is expected to sign an initial one-year contract with an option to extend by an additional 12 months.
According to updates from Fabrizio Romano, Vardy could potentially fly out to Milan on Sunday evening ahead of a medical and his contract signing.
This will be the 38-year-old’s first experience playing outside of England, having begun his career in the English non-league with Stocksbridge Park Steels, before joining Halifax and later Fleetwood Town and then Leicester.
The highlight of Vardy’s career was the famous 2015-16 Premier League, when he and Leicester overcame odds of 5000/1 to claim the league title under the guidance of Claudio Ranieri.
He is now set to join newly-promoted Serie A side Cremonese, who have got off to a flying start in 2025-26 with a surprise 2-1 victory over Milan in the opening weekend and 3-2 win over Sassuolo on Friday night. They currently sit second in the Serie A table, level on points with Napoli and Roma at the top.
