Sky Sport Italia claim Roma have shaken hands with Legia Warsaw for defender Jan Ziolkowski, paying €6m plus €1.5m in add-ons.

The negotiations had already been at an advanced stage and continued today, with the final details being whittled down successfully.

According to the latest reports, Legia Warsaw have accepted the offer worth €6m with an additional €1.5m in performance-related bonuses.

It is a big investment for the Giallorossi, especially considering the centre-back only celebrated his 20th birthday in June.

Ziolkowski a promising defender for Roma

A product of the Legia Warsaw academy, he is expected in the Eternal City for his medical tests over the next 24-48 hours.

Ziolkowski is set to be the second new signing for the Roma defence this summer after Daniele Ghilardi was brought in from Hellas Verona.

Changes had to be made with the arrival of coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who famously has always used three at the back.

There had also been interest from Borussia Monchengladbach, but he had a preference for Roma.
