Manchester United's 1-0 loss to Arsenal has caused divided opinions among the fanbase. Despite the poor start to the season, many Man United fans were impressed with the performances of the team.
What makes the performance impressive is the team's ability to create chances and compete against a top side like Arsenal, which has been challenging for the title over the last three seasons.
Ruben Amorim was optimistic for the season ahead despite the loss to Arsenal at Old Trafford. Amorim insists that his team was no t boring in the match against Arsenal.
Ruben Amorim: "We didn't deserve to lose... we deserved more.."
Amorim was firm in keeping his thoughts on the referee when asked about the Arsenal goal, which to many was either a foul on Man United keeper Altay Bayindir or a mistake. There is a divided opinion on the Arsenal goal, but to Amorim, there is only one conclusion.
When asked if Amorim thinks the Arsenal goal was due to a goalkeeping error, the Portuguese manager assured it was a foul on his keeper. He believes Arsenal players touched Bayindir without the intention of touching the ball.
Ruben Amorim: "I don't want to talk about the referees. For me, it's touching the goalkeeper without the idea of playing the ball. But it's something that we need to get used to, to do the same."
️ "We didn't deserve to lose... I did a lot of mistakes during my time, but if there is something that I proved - if you deserve it, you will play."

In an interview with Sky, Amorim recalls moments similar to Arsenal's goal against Man United today. Amorim now knows the players will have to adapt to the referee not calling fouls on goalkeepers as much as before.
Ruben Amorim: "Sometimes it happened last year. It's not playing the ball. I understand we want goals but when you are touching the goalkeeper. Sometimes you are pushing and you don't have more hands to go for the ball. We need to be stronger. We are not changing the rules, we have to adapt to the rules. Today I think we are the better team."
After the game against Arsenal, Amorim showed optimism for the rest of the season despite starting the campaign with no points. The Portuguese manager was very impressed with his team's performance and set high standards for the team.
Amorim insists the team deserved more against Arsenal and believes Manchester United can beat any team in the league moving forward. Manchester United's next game is against Fulham at Craven Cottage next weekend.
Ruben Amorim: "We have players to win any game of the Premier League. We need to focus and forget about the noise. It doesn't matter who is playing, we want to win games."
