Egypt vs South Africa Lineups, Preview

One of the biggest games of the 2025 AFCON so far will be Egypt vs South Africa in Group B. Egypt and South Africa are among the few teams to win their first AFCON match this past week.

Egypt and South Africa have three points and share the same goal difference of +1. Their wins had the same scoreline, 2-1.

Egypt defeated Zimbabwe 2-1, and they were trailing 1-0 through a goal from Prince Dube. In the 64th minute, Omar Marmoush scored the equalizer for Egypt.

In the 91st minute, Mohamed Salah scored the winner for the Egyptians to seal their first win of the tournament.

South Africa defeated Angola 2-1 in their first match of the 2025 AFCON. South Africa took the lead in the 21st minute through a goal from Oswin Appollis.

Show scored the equalizer for Angola in the 35th minute, and it was 1-1 at halftime. In the 79th minute, Lyle Foster scored South Africa's second goal of the game, and it was enough for them to claim three points.

The last time Egypt and South Africa played each other was in the 2019 AFCON Round of 16. South Africa won the match 1-0 with a goal from Thembinkosi Lorch on July 6, 2019.

Where to Watch Egypt vs South Africa

Egypt vs South Africa will kick off at 10 a.m. ET/ 7 a.m. PT in the United States. The match will kick off at 4 p.m. local time in Agadir, Morocco.

The match will be available to watch in the United States and other countries through select TV channels and streaming services.
