
Former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Oscar has been hospitalized with a heart issue after he felt unwell while undergoing fitness tests at Sao Paulo's training center on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old is in stable condition.
Sao Paulo said in a statement: "Oscar showed abnormal cardiac reactions during a routine preseason medical checkup conducted via Super CT on the morning of the 11th, and immediately received treatment from the club's medical team and the medical staff of Einstein Israel Hospital.
"Oscar was later transported to the hospital and is currently in a stable condition. He is undergoing additional tests for an accurate diagnosis, and we are monitoring his progress."
Oscar began his senior professional career with Sao Paulo in 2008. He rejoined the Brazilian club from Shanghai Port in Dec. 2024.
The attacking midfielder has made 48 appearances and scored 12 goals for the Brazilian national team.
Oscar's former club, Chelsea, posted a message of support on social media.

Oscar spent five seasons at the London club. He won the Premier League twice during his spell at Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian midfielder also won the Europa League and the EFL Cup while at Chelsea. He made 203 total appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 38 goals.
He is signed to Sao Paulo through 2027.
