Exclusive: Lisandro Martinez availability for Everton game revealed

Lisandro Martinez has been nearly out of action for a full calendar year now since tearing his ACL during a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on 2 February 2025.

Soon after, the Argentine had surgery, and under the direction of United’s medical staff, he has been undergoing a demanding recovery program for the past few months. 

CentreDevils revealed in October how he flew out to Dubai to do some warm-weather training as part of a designated training program by the club.

Many insiders have been pleased by the Argentine international’s work ethic and tenacity, as he has been training nonstop in Carrington for the past few months in preparation for his return. 

The former Ajax defender has been doing group training in the past few weeks.

The club, alongside Ruben Amorim, sent him to join in with Argentina’s national team training during the international break.

Now, we can reveal his expected status for the upcoming Everton game.

CentreDevils understands that the Argentine is expected to return to the Manchester United matchday squad against Everton.

The next two days will be a huge factor in whether he makes the squad, as the club will monitor how he continues to fare.

The club are happy with his rehabilitation process and his recovery too, with the center-back pushing to return.

The defender has personally told manager Ruben Amorim that he is ready multiple times this week.

The Argentinian coaches also were impressed with his performances in training during the international break

Since arriving from Ajax in 2022, Martinez has made 91 appearances for Manchester United, contributing three goals and helping the club lift both the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup.

His return couldn’t come soon enough, with fans excited to see his return finally after months out.
