Liam Rosenior will set up Chelsea to go out and attack Man City in their game at Stamford Bridge today, according to the man himself.
Liam Rosenior is promising Chelsea will go on the attack today as they face Man City in a crucial game at the top of the Premier League.
“I don’t think it’s about stopping them. It’s about trying to win the game, and it’s about playing your way,” Rosenior explained in quotes on the Chelsea official website.
“Obviously, you can talk about the many strengths that they have, how well coached they are, and their understanding. They’ve been together for a long time, but we’re at home and we want to take the game to them in our way and make sure that we express ourselves in the way that I think we’re capable of.”
It’s an interesting departure from the tactics we saw in the Carabao Cup semi finals against Arsenal. In those games, Rosenior set his team up very defensively, even in the second leg where his side were behind on aggregate.
Given how much City need to win this game, and given it’s at Stamford Bridge, we wouldn’t have been surprised to see a similar setup from the start today. Perhaps we will, and it’s all been a bluff?
Liverpool won and the two teams behind Chelsea in the table drew yesterday as the league tightened up at the top even more.
Liam Rosenior has a big question about who to pick in defence tomorrow – and we think we know who he’s going for.
