Tottenham must undergo a summer rebuild if they hope to secure a top-six finish next season, following a campaign derailed by injuries and poor management. Currently sitting 14th in the table and eliminated from all domestic competitions, their only remaining shot at silverware is the Europa League. Meanwhile, reports indicate that Premier League clubs are preparing to compete for Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling this summer, despite the south coast club reportedly setting a £100 million price tag on the talented prospect.
Fabrizio Romano revealed to GIVEMESPORT that securing a deal for the winger won’t be easy for Tottenham Hotspur, as Manchester City also hold an interest in his talents.
Dibling featured handfully last season, but after Southampton earned promotion under Russell Martin, the manager placed his trust in the youngster from the start of their Premier League campaign. With fearless and skilful performances on the wing, Dibling consistently took on defenders with ease, emerging as a rare bright spot in an otherwise disastrous season for the Saints, who now face an almost certain return to the Championship.
Tyler Dibling, true to his name, excels at dribbling and leads his squad in dribbles per game. The young winger has also contributed six goals and assists for Southampton this season.
With the Saints’ relegation to the Championship nearly certain, reports suggest he could remain in the Premier League, attracting interest from Ange Postecoglou and Pep Guardiola. To deter potential suitors, Southampton have reportedly set a £100 million price tag. Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Fabrizio Romano clarified the situation, stating that while Tottenham admire Dibling, securing a deal won’t be straightforward.
Fabrizio Romano, speaking to GiveMeSport, clarified the situation
“At the moment, I can confirm that for Tottenham, he’s kind of their top target.
“They love the player, they would love to bring him in in the summer transfer window – but again, it’s not going to be super easy.
“Manchester City – let’s see, because City at the moment are following the player, but from what I have heard, they haven’t started any concrete conversation.”
At the Premier League level, Dibling has had a significant impact, scoring against Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace and winning penalties against Liverpool and Manchester United, proving to be a top performer versus high-quality competitors in the league. After joining Chelsea from Southampton in 2022, he made two appearances before returning to Southampton, where he has emerged as the club’s top youth player.
Postecoglou remains focused on enhancing both the quality and youth of his attacking options. With Wilson Odobert, Mikey Moore, and Brennan Johnson already making their presence felt in North London, Dibling could arrive as the most promising talent of them all, bringing immense potential to Tottenham’s frontline.
