Manchester United have already confirmed the departures of several senior players this summer.
Six left following the expiry of their contracts.
Tyrell Malacia was among those to depart, although the Dutch defender is still waiting for clarity over his next move.
Now, another former Red Devils defender is attempting to revive his career after leaving the club several years ago.
According to the Rotherham Advertiser, a former Manchester United full-back is currently training with Rotherham United during the opening stages of pre-season as he looks to earn a contract.
The player in question is Brandon Williams.
He came through Manchester United’s academy before making more than 50 first-team appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Williams enjoyed loan spells with Norwich City and Ipswich Town before joining Hull City on a permanent deal last summer.
However, his time at the MKM Stadium was short-lived, with his contract being terminated earlier this year after making just one senior appearance.
Brandon Williams played played just five minutes for Hull City in the Championship before the club decided to let him go.
The 25-year-old is now training with Rotherham and could even feature in their opening pre-season friendly as he searches for a route back into professional football.
The opportunity comes shortly after Rotherham appointed former Manchester United academy defender Alex Bruce, son of ex-United captain Steve Bruce, as the club’s new manager.
Williams has been working with the League One side since they returned for pre-season and will hope to impress enough to secure a permanent contract.
Once regarded as one of Manchester United’s brightest academy graduates, the left-back now faces a crucial period in his career as he bids to get back to regular first-team football after a difficult few seasons.
