Randal Kolo Muani will be looking to make a mark at Tottenham as he fights for his long-term future

Tottenham ended the transfer window with a bang as they finally managed to address the issues up front. Many fans were worried that the Lilywhites needed cover in the #9 position despite Richarlison’s brilliant start to the season. And the North London club did just that as they managed to sign Randal Kolo Muani from PSG on a season-long loan.

These are definitely some exciting times for Spurs fans, and landing the France international just shows that the club is willing to show some intent under Thomas Frank. The 26-year-old has played for some of the biggest teams in Europe, and it is fair to say that he is going to be an asset for the North London club.

Kolo Muani is a lethal forward who tends to get into good positions during games and score some crucial goals. The PSG loanee might be remembered for his miss in the World Cup final against Argentina, but he is much more than that. He brings some extra legs in the attack, and his versatility will prove to be useful for Thomas Frank this season.

Tottenham might face a dilemma regarding Randal Kolo Muani’s future

Signing Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan is one of the last decisions made by Daniel Levy, before he stepped down as the club’s chairman. However, this might just prove to be a problem for Tottenham next summer, as they do not obtain an option to buy the prolific striker on a permanent deal.

Now, John Wenham believes that the Lilywhites would have to beat a lot of top teams for his signature if he does well at N17. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,

“It’s frustrating that it doesn’t come with an option attached. So we’ll have to cross that bridge when we get there. I mean, there’s an argument that you hope he does do that well, that big clubs want him, because that means he’ll have done well on the pitch at Tottenham.”

The Lilywhite Rose owner added,

“There’s also a risk attached to that. But I think in the scenario of having a free striker, I think it’s a risk worth taking, and I’m hopeful that Kolo Muani will be incredibly successful for us.”

John Wenham believes Tottenham should have included an option to buy Kolo Muani on a permanent deal next summer. The Lilywhite Rose owner adds that top teams will be interested in landing the France international next year if he succeeds at N17. This will benefit the North London club massively on the pitch, but they would have to fend off competition next summer to buy him permanently.

Once the ongoing season gets over, Kolo Muani will just have two years left in his PSG contract. So, there is a strong belief that the Ligue 1 giants will let the 26-year-old leave the club for pastures new permanently. Considering that, Spurs will hope that the France international settles at N17 this season, so that they can sign the prolific striker on a long-term deal next summer.
