Inter need to sell before investing in Parma’s Giovanni Leoni, so there are reports Benjamin Pavard is of interest to Galatasaray, who they’d prefer to part with rather than Yann Bisseck.
The Nerazzurri did not go all in for Koni Di Winter, who is now finalising his €20m plus bonuses transfer to Milan, because they first needed to clear out one of their current centre-backs.
That situation remains the same and as already reported, Inter would much rather sell veteran Pavard than Bisseck this summer.
There are several reasons for that, including the fact it is their last chance to cash in on the 29-year-old who was purchased for €31.4m from Bayern Munich in 2023.
The other issue is his salary, worth €5m per season net, compared to just €2m for the much younger Bisseck.
Galatasaray might be coming to their rescue with Matteo Moretto and Calciomercato.com suggesting that the Turkish team approached the defender to ask for information.
It is preliminary right now and via intermediaries, but it is a promising development for the Nerazzurri.
If they were able to sell Pavard, then they’d reinvest in 18-year-old Parma sensation Leoni, whose asking price is €40m.
