Gary Neville and David Beckham have wasted little time putting their stamp on a new era at Salford City.
The former Manchester United teammates have taken full control of the club through a consortium after previously sharing ownership with the rest of the Class of ’92, while also introducing a new club crest and refreshed visual identity ahead of the 2026/27 season.
With fresh leadership in place, recruitment has remained a major priority as Salford continue building a squad capable of challenging higher up the table.
Their latest addition has now been confirmed.
Salford City have officially announced the signing of Guyana international Elliot Bonds from Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee, as the club announced on their website.
The 26-year-old midfielder has signed a multi-year contract after making 75 League Two appearances across two seasons with Fleetwood.
Elliot Bonds arrives with plenty of EFL experience, having also represented Dagenham & Redbridge, Cheltenham Town and Kidderminster Harriers during his career, while captaining the Guyana national team on the international stage.
Speaking after completing the move, the midfielder admitted he was eager to get started.
“I’m really looking forward to getting started! From the minute I spoke to those involved I was looking forward to it.
“I’ve heard great things about pre-season, the new Manager and his coaching, I’ve heard really good things. As a player I just want to get started and integrate into the team, and I can’t wait for the season to start.
“With the team that we’re building with the players, with the players with the heart like myself that we are signing, I think this season is one where we have to go one step further.
“If we stick together and everyone bring the best version of themselves, I believe we will achieve what everyone is setting out for.”
Elliot Bonds becomes another addition to an increasingly busy summer for Salford.
Joe Powell was the club’s first signing after leaving Rotherham United, before Will Aimson returned to strengthen the squad.
Goalkeeper Sam Long also joined on a two-year deal as Neville and Beckham continue reshaping the team ahead of the new season.
