Gennaro Gattuso has officially terminated his contract with Hajduk Split by mutual consent after less than a year at the Croatian club.
The former Milan, Napoli, Valencia and Olympique Marseille coach took the team to third place in the SuperSport HNL division.
He oversaw 43 official matches on their bench, with 20 victories, 14 draws and nine defeats, along with a few arguments in the media room.
Gattuso had been already preparing for the start of the new season when the decision was made for them to part company.
The Italian tactician leaves along with his assistants, Luigi Riccio, Roberto Perrone, Bruno Dominici, Dino Tenderini and Marco Sangermani.
“Mister, we thank you once again for everything and wish you the best in the rest of your life and coaching career!” read the statement on the club website.
Gattuso is now 47 years old and is therefore open for a new management experience in Italy, whether it is Serie A or B.
Clubs looking for a new coach include Fiorentina, Cagliari, Lecce and newly-promoted Pisa.
