One current Chelsea player reminds a legend of the club of winger Arjen Robben in the way that he plays the game.

The new comes after Chelsea beat Premier League winners Liverpool 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon in what was a fantastic overall performance by The Blues.

Cole Palmer was back in fine form for Chelsea and is one of the reasons that they put in such a good performance, with the stats proving this as well.

Palmer was also involved in Chelsea’s first goal of the game in the opening minutes, as well as some good work by Romeo Lavia and Pedro Neto to setup Enzo Fernandez to provide a lovely finish to get things going.

Palmer is the man of the moment

Blues attacker Cole Palmer really is the man of the moment right now after his terrific performance against Liverpool.

He has been receiving his deserved flowers again after a poor run of form leading up to that game. Many Chelsea fans will feel relief that it looks like Palmer might now be back right in time for the season run in.

Palmer similar to Robben

The former Manchester City youngster has been compared to former Blue Arjen Robben, by club legend Claude Makelele.

Speaking about Palmer on talkSPORT, Makelele said: “He reminds me of Robben. He changed the game every single 10 minutes. He’s unbelievable. He has this quality.”

I can see the similarities, but I think Robben was much more of a direct dribbling winger, whereas Palmer is a more creative and clever type of player. But they are both class and great players for Chelsea former and present.
