Real Madrid have just two weeks from last Sunday to activate their €9 million buy-back clause on Nico Paz, with the Argentine’s return to the Santiago Bernabeu considered a formality regardless of the outcome of the club’s imminent presidential elections.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the operation has been planned and agreed upon for some time, and Paz himself is already aware of Real Madrid’s intention to bring him back to Spain this summer.

The Argentine, who won Serie A’s best midfielder award after a stunning season that propelled Como into the Champions League, is expected to be offered a new and significantly improved contract upon his return, a reward for his extraordinary performances in Italy.

Real Madrid consider the buy-back clause exceptional value given Paz’s emergence as one of Europe’s finest creative midfielders this season.

The fee of €9 million for a player of his calibre represents one of the most favourable options in European football, and the club have no intention of letting it expire.
