Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij has named Ronaldo, Wesley Sneijder and Walter Samuel as part of his Inter dream team, while adding of his current teammates, “I’d take Marcus Thuram’s physicality.”

The Dutch defender spoke in Inter’s match-day programme for the match, which kicks off at 20:45 local time this evening.

With quotes via FCInterNews, the centre-back was asked to name three Nerazzurri legends he would put in his ideal Inter.

“There would be many names,” he replied, “but I’ll go with Ronaldo, Sneijder and Samuel.”

The club also asked the Dutchman if he could borrow any quality from one of his current teammates, what it would be.

“I could take many,” the former Lazio man replied, “but among all I’d say Marcus Thuram’s physicality.”

Finally, the Dutch defender was asked to name any general athletes he was inspired by.

“Yes, there are several,” De Vrij said, “The ones who inspired me most are Michael Jordan and Djokovic.”

Why these two? “For what they represent and what they managed to achieve,” the defender concluded, “and also for their discipline and mentality.”

De Vrij’s Inter welcome Sassuolo to San Siro this evening and anyone in attendance can read the Dutchman’s words in the programme.
