According to L’Equipe via FCInterNews, the 28-year-old is the favorite to partner up with Kylian Mbappe in the final third.

Didier Deschamps left the ex-Borussia Monchengladbach talisman on the bench in a 2-0 win at Ukraine last week.

However, after losing two star forwards to injuries, Marcus Thuram has emerged as the best candidate to join forces with Mbappe.

Therefore, Deschamps is considering handing Thuram his first start in the current qualifying cycle.

Indeed, he will go from his preferred 4-2-3-1 set-up to a 4-4-2, which favors Thuram over other attacking options.
