Happy Friday friends. We are close to the game against Newcastle, and I can’t stop thinking how the game will pan out. Are we going to win? Are we going to score plenty of goals? Are we going to keep a clean sheet? These and other questions have been on my mind. In recent games, scoring goals have been a bit difficult for Arsenal. With the exception of the game against Tottenham where we won by three goals to one, we have found scoring goals extremely hard. This trend, I am afraid, may continue in our next game, unless Arteta finds a way to get the team scoring again. Arteta surely knows his job and I am sure he knows what he needs to do to make his team gel again, but while we wait to see what team he would choose on Saturday, we could have a look at this attacking combination that I believe will get us goals on Saturday. Nobody seems to know the actual plan Arsenal has for both Lacazette and Martinelli, but while they still remain Arsenal players, it won’t be wrong to start getting them involved regularly in games, starting from the Newcastle game on Saturday. Against Newcastle, we are going to play against a defence that has huge and strong players, and they will be up to ruffle our attackers, as a way of intimidating them. In this case, we need players who can withstand the physical challenges of the Newcastle defence, while also keeping an eye for an opportunity to score. Lacazette and Martinelli are both players who have shown that they can withstand rough tackles from opposing teams, and they have also shown how fast and quick they are in the case of a fast break. Aubameyang is not really fit at the moment, and he may just have to be rested, so as to enable him to heal up properly. He has looked jaded in recent games, and I have always been asking that the number of games he features in should be reduced, as a way of keeping him fresh for the challenge in the long run. This season, his combination with Lacazette in the few games they have played together, has not produced the spark that is expected. Now that Auba is not totally fit, I don’t think it would be a bad idea to give our other strikers a chance to shine, would it? We are Arsenal and proud. Sylvester
