Inter Miami have a huge game on their hands with the David Beckham-owned franchise set to take on Seattle Sounders in the finals of the Leagues Cup. The team has done a great job so far in the competition and will look to wrap things up in style, with the silverware in their cabinet.

However, the team has been without the services of their skipper, Lionel Messi, who has been on and off the team because of injuries. Messi has been suffering his hamstring injuries this season, and managing his schedule has been a major challenge for Xavier Mascherano.

Messi spoke on his condition following the Leagues Cup semi-final, with the Inter Miami skipper getting honest about his injury. The Argentine stated, "I wanted to be here. When I came back against Galaxy, I felt some discomfort. I didn't feel comfortable, but I wanted to play the game."

He further added, "It was really important to be here because it's a difficult opponent; they'd beaten us in the two games we played against them this year. In the first half, I was playing with a bit of fear, but after that, I felt a bit [more] free."

According to reports, the Argentine has cleared the needed tests before the game, with head coach Xavier Mascherano confident over his participation. Messi has played a key role in the team's success this season, and fans will hope that the player takes to the field as a part of the starting lineup.

With all things pointing towards Messi playing the game, it would be a surprise if the Inter Miami skipper is absent from the playing XI. The Argentine played a huge role in helping the team lift the Leagues Cup last season, and if things go as planned, we could once again see Inter Miami being crowned champions.
