Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have a tough challenge on their hands with the side set to face reigning defending Premier League champions Liverpool later tonight. With both teams hot on form, the clash could play a major role in shaping the points table for the coming weeks. However, Arsenal might not be in perfect condition ahead of the challenge.

According to reports, Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has travelled with the squad to Liverpool ahead of the contest. While the Norwegian is available for selection, he remains a doubt for the match following his shoulder injury in the previous game.

Arsenal are already in a tough spot with both Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz absent from the contest because of injuries. Missing Odegaard in a must-win game could be a rough blow to the Gunners, considering his importance to Mikel Arteta's side.

Head coach Mikel Arteta discussed the possibilities around Martin Odegaard's selection with the Spanish manager, stating, “We don’t know yet. He hasn’t trained yet, and if he does, it will be tomorrow.”

Arsenal could decide to keep Odegaard on the bench in the first half, considering his condition, with the Gunners skipper taking to the field in the second half. It will be interesting to see what Mikel Arteta has in store, considering the team is already ravaged with injuries and would not like to see the Norwegian sidelined for a longer period.
