The 33-year-old Santos star forward Neymar is reportedly open to moving to Serie A amid links to Inter Milan and Napoli.

With the hope of impressing Brazil senior national team manager Carlo Ancelotti and gaining a recall to the national team ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, this decision seems likely.

According to Fabrizio Romano, around late April or May, Napoli and Inter Milan were presented with a possibility to sign Neymar, and during the summer, this possibility was addressed again, although for now, the situation hasn’t budged in any direction.

As Edward Howard, editor at DashTickets, reminds, Neymar is set to become a free agent at the end of the year, and the choice between the clubs currently holding 1st and 4th positions in the league makes sense, and there are many reasons to look up what will happen with Neymar in the upcoming months.

It is worth adding that not only was Neymar already offered to Nerazzurri in the summer, but he has also been linked with MLS club Inter Miami, where he would be able to reunite with his old teammate Lionel Messi.

As DashTickets’ editor Edward Howarth adds, the idea of Neymar returning to Europe after spending a decade at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain doesn’t seem that unusual, especially considering his previous career achievements in the region. At the moment, however, there is no conclusive decision being voiced, and the player still has plenty of time to make a final call.

Neymar Tempted By Inter Milan Move?

Neymar started his youth career in 1999 in Portuguesa Santista and moved to Santos in 2003, where he stayed for the next 10 years, four of which he spent as a senior player. In 2013, Neymar was transferred to Barcelona, where he played for the next four years. In 2017, the Brazilian player moved to Paris Saint-Germain, where he stayed for another six years.

This period can be considered the height of Neymar’s career. During his Santos era, Neymar appeared in 179 matches and scored 109 times. As a Barcelona forward, Neymar participated in 123 matches, scoring 68 times. Finally, as a PSG forward, he accomplished ten major trophies, including five Ligue 1 titles, and contributed 197 goal involvements in 173 appearances.

In 2023, Neymar moved to Al Hilal, which made his transfer the most expensive purchase in Saudi Pro League history at the time. However, he only totalled one goal and three assists in and participated in seven matches for Al Hilal, which, considering his high transfer fees and wages, resulted in media outlets stating that the transfer was among the worst in football history.

In 2025, Neymar returned to his home club Santos, where he still plays to date.
