Italian journalist Paolo Condo commended Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu for his outstanding work in the early stages of the season.
Speaking to Corriere della Sera via FCInter1908, Condo highlighted the 44-year-old’s remarkable impact at San Siro.
Despite his limited experience in senior management, Cristian Chivu has hit his stride on his return to Giuseppe Meazza.
Indeed, the Romanian coach has gone from strength to strength after a disappointing Serie A start.
After losing twice in the opening three league matches, Inter have won five consecutive games in all competitions.
Most recently, they thumped top-flight newcomers Cremonese 4-1 at home, with Ange-Yoan Bonny on the scoresheet.
The 21-year-old striker found the net in his first Serie A start for the Nerazzurri.
Furthermore, the Frenchman racked up three assists in a statement performance.
Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez has scored in three successive appearances, announcing his return to form.
Therefore, the overall impression is that Chivu has already settled at San Siro.
Condo delivered his verdict on Inter’s form resurgence after an underwhelming Serie A start.
“He adjusted his cuffs, gave his bow tie a shake, and with five consecutive wins, he ensured Inter started the Champions League as they should and climbed back in Serie A as they could.
“On Saturday, his players thrashed Cremonese with football that ignores horizontality to travel vertically toward goal.
“17 league goals so far – two more than in either of the Scudetto-winning seasons.”
Then, he hailed Chivu’s squad rotations.
“Over the span of eight matches, Chivu has reduced playing time for Acerbi by 120 minutes and for Mkhitaryan by 110, the oldest in the squad.
“Up front, things are steady, but Esposito and Bonny are a different story compared to Taremi and Arnautovic.
“Chivu is a shrewd man. He says he won’t change anything and yet changes a lot, so the conservatives listen satisfied and the innovators watch pleased.
“The surprise on the bench so far is him.”
