Italy are currently second place in the UEFA Association Coefficient, which will be enough to claim an extra spot in the Champions League again for next season if things remain as they are.

The UEFA Association Coefficient ranks nations based on the performances of their affiliated teams competing in UEFA club competitions.

The two nations that are ranked first and second by the end of the campaign will claim an additional spot in the Champions League for 2025-26.

Italy and Germany finished first and second in the 2023-24 Association Coefficient, which is why both nations currently have five teams competing in the Champions League, as well as three more teams between the Europa League and Conference League.
