Manchester United’s efforts to move on Jadon Sancho have hit another snag, with no takers emerging for the out-of-favour winger.

The Red Devils are actively trying to find a new home for Sancho, who is widely considered to be one of their biggest transfer mistakes.

He has turned down a permanent switch to Chelsea earlier in the window and has not taken up any other offers that have come his way.

United are still working on finding a solution and have now put him forward to Tottenham Hotspur after their unsuccessful attempt to sign Eberechi Eze.

Transfer insider Graeme Bailey told United In Focus that intermediaries are actively exploring options for Sancho. Talks have taken place with both Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur in recent days.

Bayern, looking to add another forward on loan, have held discussions about Christopher Nkunku, with Sancho’s name also coming up.

With Tottenham seeking a new attacking option after James Maddison’s injury, the North London club reportedly have been offered the chance to pursue a deal for Sancho.

Roma have shown interest over the past few weeks, but so far, Sancho has not agreed to make the switch.

Juventus remain interested, and with Nico Gonzalez’s move to Atletico Madrid progressing, they are making space for a potential addition.

Borussia Dortmund, Sancho’s former club, are also an option.

Money is the main issue holding up Sancho’s exit

Graeme Bailey has explained that the British winger’s high wages are the main reason why his sale remains a problem.

Sancho is reportedly willing to sit out the remainder of his contract, and negotiations with clubs are still going nowhere.

Bailey said: “Few clubs are offering United what they want – a fee is not an issue, but they would also need to pay part of Sancho’s huge wages, something they are reluctant to do.

“The stand-off with Sancho and United remains over his wages, he may take a wage cut but in order to do so United would need to cover what he is due on remainder of deal.

“That has always been an issue as United feel they are taking a huge loss on the player anyway to facilitate a move, so then why should they pay him off too.

“Sancho is not rushing into this, other options are emerging. His people have already warned United that he could yet stay unless the deal is right for them.

“Then if Sancho gets to January, he can sign a pre-contract – unless United play this right – they could end up paying him his entire wage and then see him go for nothing, which would be the worst outcome for them.”
