Manchester United’s attacking options have come under close scrutiny in recent weeks, with changes in system, form, and selection, along with missing out on transfer targets such as Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City, sparking fresh debate over who fits into the club’s long-term plans.

January speculation has only added ton that uncertainty.

Several United players have been linked with moves away, particularly those who have found opportunities harder to come by during the first half of the campaign.

In Italy, reports have continued to surface around possible interest from Juventus, as the Serie A side asses attacking reinforcements.

One name repeatedly mentioned in those discussions has been Joshua Zirkzee.

The forward’s background in Italian football and his tactical profile have kept him on the radar abroad, with questions raised over whether a mid-season return could materialise before the window closes.

However, despite that noise, the situation behind the scenes is far clearer.

According to Samuel Luckhurst from The Sun, the Dutch centre-forward is expected to remain at Manchester United for the rest of the season, with both player and club aligned on postponing any major decisions until the summer.

United have not been open to sanctioning departures in January, and Zirkzee himself is understood to have no desire to push for an exit.

Having recently returned to training following a minor injury, the Dutchman is once again available to newly appointed interim head coach Michael Carrick, who has largely kept individual futures out of public discussion.

The focus instead has been on maintaining momentum after a strong couple of results and managing the squad through a demanding second half of the campaign.

While United are still expected to review their attacking options ahead of next season, any potential move involving Joshua Zirkzee is now far more unlikely to be explored in the summer window rather than rushed through mid-season.

For now, the forward remains part of the club’s plans, with the immediate priority firmly on contributing between now and May before reassessing what comes next.
