Juventus have received encouraging news on Jeff Ekhator, with tests confirming the young striker suffered only a minor injury on his debut against Basel.
According to the club, the forward underwent radiological examinations at the J Medical centre on Monday morning after the muscle problem that forced him off during Saturday’s friendly.
The scans revealed a low-grade strain of the biceps femoris in his right thigh, and Ekhator has already begun the rehabilitation process aimed at returning to action.
The diagnosis will come as a relief to Luciano Spalletti, who had been forced to withdraw the new signing inside the opening half-hour of his first appearance.
The nature of the injury had been unclear in the immediate aftermath, with early reports split between a thigh muscle problem and a knee issue, but the club’s examinations have clarified it as a low-grade hamstring strain.
The timing was the chief concern, coming at the very start of pre-season for a player only just integrating into his new surroundings.
While no return date has been specified, a low-grade strain typically carries a short recovery, offering reassurance as Juventus press on with a summer rebuild that still hinges on the arrival of a marquee centre-forward.
